Yesterday is gone.
Tomorrow has not arrived.
And today keeps slipping through our fingers while we think about both.

Perhaps the greatest reality is not time itself…
but the moment we are standing in right now.

YESTERDAY • TODAY • TOMORROW

These three mentions are a very big part of every human being’s life journey from beginning to end.

All of these have their basis in time or are time-related.

By contrast, if there was no need for contrast, then there would be no need for yesterday or tomorrow as today would remain forever in place as our default existence.

YESTERDAY

This was a today that already came and had its today in that day of time which we now refer to as yesterday.

The day before today.

It was once alive, moving and present just as today now is.

TODAY

This is more reality-based because it is where you are right now.

When this day finishes making the rounds, it passes as it moves away from yesterday and toward tomorrow more.

This travels with you always.

TOMORROW

This is the day after today and as far away as you can get from yesterday in many ways.

It is not real…

yet it is treated like it is.

To many people, tomorrow is more important than today itself.

IT’S A STORY

What all three have in common, where they meet and have meaning and purpose, what binds them together during our short stay here is one common denominator:

The day you are in.

We pre-date, date and post-date experience while counting by the days.

CALENDAR POWER?

If you count by moments, yesterday and tomorrow have no say so, but today does as we use the day to accomplish tasks, make references and perform routine give-and-take exercises.

Yet if you consult with a calendar, it acts as a sort of false guarantee that the future is waiting for you and time is passing.

Or…

are we passing through time instead?

DO-OVER?

You don’t get to do any “time” over, but you do get hope of having another bite of the moment apple.

When you boo-boo, instantly a change within the heart takes place.

If allowed, it presents itself for another physical go-around again for further experience.

But it went to work inside first.

Ponder this.

KIDS STUFF

Interesting to note that kids mark days by getting up and going to sleep.

Everything in between is their playtime.

As adults, we do well to follow this original formula too.

Where adults may fail is they try to squeeze too much in making fun go away and getting things done the priority.

So be it…

for now.

FINDING CENTER

We often refer to the triplets of yesterday, today and tomorrow as pilots of a sort.

Why?

They seem to fly by as in “time flies.”

Yet each one presents itself and we manipulate them and not them us.

When one is centered within their life passion, time takes on a different meaning and purpose.

STILL BUT MOVING

The spirit can exceed time and live forever.

HOW?

Consider the effect that gazing has on a human being.

To look out over a body of water, ponder mountain ranges, forests and vistas allows us to transcend time as we become temporary observers of what is always in motion.

POSE

These things are always moving too.

While they appear to stand still so they can be appreciated and while we practice stillness to do so, all involved are moving and never stop.

From within your body to the outer reaches of the cosmos, movement never ceases.

Nothing stands still…

but instead poses as it goes.

MAXIMUM REALITY

In space and beyond time, there is no such thing as days, hours and references to yesterday or tomorrow.

All that exists is the present which needs no contrast because it is all three of these dynamics presented as they should be…

without reference.

A full NOW reality instead.

BEING STILL

That would mean that stillness would be coveted by an observer as all presents itself to the one observing making us receivers without having to remember anything.

We would simply be in this constant state of observation.

This condition or existence is referred to by another word which exceeds all.

NEVER-ENDING

Called eternity.

It goes on like it was always here but has no beginning or end.

Best described further by the word everlasting.

Here, one is at rest while in the midst of it all.

Called eternal life.

This is where the One who created all things abides…

and wants you for a neighbor as well.

Yesterday, today and tomorrow?

This will do for now…

but forever is more like it.
