Recently, we had the opportunity to sit down with local author Richie Alan Naggar and discuss his book, Pearls for the Soul, a collection of proverbs, insights, observations, and life wisdom designed to encourage reflection, growth, and meaningful conversation.

Q: What is Pearls for the Soul?
A: It is a collection of proverbs, insights, revelations, positive sayings, and uplifting observations designed for daily and lifelong use. The purpose is simple: to encourage reflection, discussion, and self-discovery. It invites people to receive guidance from within themselves and then share those discoveries with others. There is value, love, mystery & magic in everyone
WHAT INSPIRED THE BOOK?
Q: What prompted you to write it?
A: Many years ago, I found myself working in a difficult environment. Every day seemed to bring new challenges. Instead of focusing on the downside, I began looking for the upside hidden within every circumstance.
I started writing down observations, insights, and positive sayings that helped me navigate those situations. Over time, I discovered these ideas worked like a tonic. They strengthened me. Encouraged me. Guided me.
Eventually, those collected thoughts became Pearls for the Soul.
THE FIRST BOOK SIGNING.
Q: How did it feel to become a published author?
A: I wasn’t entirely sure until my first book signing.
People would come into the bookstore, browse through the pages, and then begin sharing their own life stories with me. Finally, a book about them the reader which makes it a very personal experience VERY

Their dreams.
Their fears.
Their struggles.
Their victories.
At that moment, I realized something important.
The book had become a bridge.
It gave people permission to connect with themselves and with others.
That realization was deeply rewarding.

A: I have been amazed by the steady support.
Copies have found their way across the country, reaching readers in places such as Rhode Island, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Beverly Hills, and many other locations. Bulk sales surprised me too
What has really surprised me most is not the sales themselves, but the stories behind them. The worth found in another human being is priceless
People often purchase multiple copies at once.
WHY DO PEOPLE BUY BULK?
Q: Why do readers purchase several copies?
A: It was explained to me that the book serves many purposes.
Some keep it on a bedside table.
Others place it on a coffee table.
Many give it as a gift.
They found their way into classrooms where students were to pick their favorite and share in front of the class then in groups. Just amazing really
In a world filled with flowers, candy, balloons, and temporary gestures, people sometimes want to give something more lasting.
Something thoughtful.

My readers are primarily people who care.
IS IT A PAGE TURNER?
Q: Would you describe it as a page-turner?
A: Yes and no.
You can open the book and turn to any page and find something that speaks directly to you. People ask me: How did you do that? My smile crosses my entire face. I numbered the sayings so people could quote page, & then item
It is not necessarily meant to be consumed all at once. Not a reader but a personal greeter
Many readers treat it like a daily reflection.
A daily insight.

A: Because people are the real treasure. Interpersonal relationships priceless
Throughout my life, I have had extraordinary access to individuals from all walks of life.
Different backgrounds.
Different experiences.
Different journeys.
What I discovered is that within every person there are lessons, insights, and wisdom waiting to be uncovered.
I have spent much of my life looking for those treasures.
Listening.
Observing.
Learning.
And then sharing what I find.
