What you put into something will often determine what you get back.

Life is remarkably simple that way.

Invest in bitterness and bitterness returns.

Invest in fear and fear multiplies.

Invest in kindness and kindness finds its way back home.

Invest in gratitude and suddenly life becomes richer than it was yesterday.

The harvest often reflects the seed.

That is one of life’s great mysteries and one of its greatest certainties.

LIFE IS MEANT TO BE LIVED

Life was never intended to be merely endured.

It is to be explored.

Experienced.

Sampled.

Shared.

Questioned.

Celebrated.

Observed.

And appreciated.

Too many people spend their days waiting for life to begin while life is already happening all around them.

The conversation.

The sunrise.

The meal.

The friendship.

The challenge.

The lesson.

The opportunity.

The miracle hidden in an ordinary day.

These are the treasures many overlook.

THE WONDER AT WORK

Consider this for a moment.

Within you exists something extraordinary.

Something beyond measurement.

Something that cannot be purchased.

Something that no bank can hold and no thief can steal.

Life itself.

The breath within you.

The awareness that allows you to experience this moment.

The ability to love.

To think.

To create.

To forgive.

To dream.

To hope.

To become.

How do you properly thank the One who gave such a gift?

By your deeds.

By your character.

By your willingness to use the gift.

As I have often written:

“When you feed the soul, you feed everything.”

LIFE-FORCE

Spend the life force within you wisely today.

Spend it generously.

Spend it courageously.

Spend it gratefully.

Spend it purposefully.

Do not hoard your kindness.

Do not ration your gratitude.

Do not postpone your joy.

Do not delay your love.

The greatest waste is not money.

The greatest waste is unused life.

THE PURPOSE OF LIFE

People have wrestled with this question since the beginning.

Why am I here?

What is my purpose?

What is the meaning of all this?

Here is the beautiful paradox.

The very act of asking is already part of the answer.

The seeker is already moving toward discovery.

Throughout the Pearls Series I have often returned to this simple truth:

“The purpose of life is to discover the purpose of life.”

And once discovered?

Live it.

Share it.

Express it.

Give it away.

YOUR PORTION

Each one of us has been given a portion.

A unique combination of gifts, abilities, talents, experiences, lessons, failures, victories, strengths, and weaknesses.

No two journeys are exactly alike.

No two stories are exactly alike.

Your task is not to become someone else.

Your task is to become fully yourself.
