What you send into the world eventually comes back.

Sometimes louder.

Sometimes softer.

But it comes back.

Life has a way of echoing what we continuously project.

THE ECHO OF YOUR LIFE

A young boy once stood at the edge of a canyon.

Curious, he shouted:

“HELLO!”

A moment later the canyon answered:

“HELLO!”

He shouted:

“WHO ARE YOU?”

The canyon responded:

“WHO ARE YOU?”

Frustrated, he yelled:

“YOU’RE STUPID!”

The canyon immediately replied:

“YOU’RE STUPID!”

Confused and upset, he ran home to his father.

His father smiled and said:

“Watch this.”

The father returned to the canyon and shouted:

“I LOVE YOU!”

The canyon replied:

“I LOVE YOU!”

Then he shouted:

“YOU ARE AMAZING!”

The canyon answered:

“YOU ARE AMAZING!”

The boy stood in amazement.

His father explained:

“My son, that is called an echo.”

THE GREAT ECHO

Life often works much the same way.

What we consistently put out eventually comes back.

Not always immediately.

Not always exactly.

But often remarkably close.

Kindness tends to produce kindness.

Respect tends to produce respect.

Generosity tends to produce generosity.

Bitterness often finds bitterness.

Anger often finds anger.

Negativity often attracts more negativity.

THE PEARLS CONNECTION

Throughout Pearls for the Soul, there is a recurring truth:

You are constantly planting seeds.

With your words.

With your actions.

With your attitudes.

With your habits.

Every day you are planting something.

The harvest may not arrive tomorrow.

But it will arrive.

THE INVISIBLE INVESTMENT

Many people underestimate small acts.

A smile.

An encouraging word.

A helping hand.

A moment of patience.

A thoughtful gesture.

These things seem small.

But they travel.

They touch lives.

They influence hearts.

And eventually they echo back in ways we never expected.

THE PERSON IN THE MIRROR

One of the most powerful questions we can ask is:

“What am I sending into the world?”

Because whatever that answer is, there is a good chance it is already finding its way back.

RICHIE SPEAKING…

Become the kind of echo you would like to hear.

Speak life.

Encourage often.

Love generously.

Forgive quickly.

Serve willingly.

Be the person who leaves people better than you found them.

One day the echoes will return.

And when they do, may they remind you that a life well lived always leaves beautiful sounds behind.
