Before people know what you sell…

they experience YOU.

Your presence is already working.

The question is whether you are commanding it…
or merely allowing it to happen.

You are more than a well-adjusted and well-dressed professional.

You are a walking…

talking…

moving advertisement.

You are selling your first impression everywhere you go.

At work.

At the grocery store.

At lunch.

At the movies.

Walking down the street.

Talking on the phone.

Meeting someone for the first time.

Your PRESENCE is already at work.

Whether you realize it or not.

And the motor behind that presence…

is YOU.

WE KNOW THIS

People buy from people first.

Then they become interested in what those people are offering.

That is why presence matters.

Your image is working even when you are standing still.

People notice:

how you enter a room,

how you speak,

how you listen,

how you treat others,

how you dress,

how you carry yourself,

how you respond under pressure.

They are experiencing YOU before the formal transaction ever begins.

PAUSE FOR CAUSE.

You may think nothing is happening.

Something is happening.

Your presence is talking.

MANNERS OPEN DOORS

I want to emphasize courtesy and manners.

On the phone.

In person.

Everywhere.

Few things are more attractive than someone showing genuine respect toward another human being.

Please.

Thank you.

Excuse me.

After you.

Good morning.

How may I help?

Simple things.

But powerful things.

Think about seeing a young child practicing excellent manners.

It melts butter in a cold room.

LOL.

Why?

Because courtesy communicates something deeper.

It says:

I SEE YOU.

I RESPECT YOU.

YOU MATTER.

That opens doors.

Very wide.

RESEARCH & EDUCATION

Knowledge replaces a lot of fear.

Especially fear of the unknown.

If you know your field…

if you have studied…

if you have prepared…

if you understand what you are doing…

then act like you own what you are saying.

Not arrogantly.

Not loudly.

Not as if nobody else knows anything.

But with HUMILITY and CONFIDENCE.

That combination is strong.

Confidence without humility becomes irritating.

Humility without confidence can become invisible.

You want both.

BEYOND COMFORT AND FAMILIARITY

As experience builds…

something happens.

At first, you are learning.

Then you become comfortable.

Then you begin to own the behavior.

And eventually…

if you keep practicing…

you may reach MASTERY.

Mastery is different.

It looks effortless.

It feels natural.

You are not constantly thinking:

What do I do now?

What do I say now?

How do I handle this?

You know.

Not because you were born knowing…

but because experience has built itself into you.

That is attractive to watch.

RULER OF ALL YOU SURVEY

I have seen masters everywhere.

Doctors.

Cooks.

Real Estate agents.

Bus drivers.

Teachers.

Car washers.

Babysitters.

Check-out clerks.

Managers.

Engineers.

Mothers.

Fathers.

Grandparents.

Aunts.

Uncles.

People in every kind of work and responsibility.

What makes them impressive?

They know what they are doing.

They enjoy doing it.

They repeat it.

They refine it.

They improve.

Then one day…

they are no longer merely doing the job.

They are COMMANDING their role.

That is mastery.

SPEAKING WITHOUT NOISE

When someone truly owns a situation…

their silence can be powerful.

They do not have to fill the room with words.

Their presence is already contributing.

People sense:

calm,

competence,

certainty,

control.

And if that person says only a few words…

those words tend to carry more weight.

Why?

Because presence prepared the room before speech arrived.

That is speaking without noise.

ON & OFF

We are rarely completely off.

Maybe when we are home for the night.

Reading.

Watching a movie.

Enjoying quiet.

Preparing for sleep.

But otherwise…

we are generally ON.

Not in the sense that we should perform constantly.

That would be exhausting.

I mean that our conduct is always communicating.

Even when we say nothing.

You are telling people who you are through:

your actions,

your reactions,

your patience,

your attitude,

your attention.

That is why commanding presence is not about acting.

It is about alignment.

WHO YOU ARE AND HOW YOU APPEAR AGREE

The strongest presence is not manufactured.

It is aligned.

Your values match your behavior.

Your words match your actions.

Your competence matches your confidence.

Your manners match your respect.

Now presence becomes believable.

People feel it.

They relax around it.

They trust it more easily.

That is valuable in business.

It is valuable in leadership.

It is valuable in ordinary life.

BELONGS TO THEM

There are people who can walk into a room…

say almost nothing…

and the room changes.

Not because they intimidate everybody.

Not because they demand attention.

But because their presence has substance.

People notice.

They listen.

They become aware.

The room seems to belong to them.

Not through force.

Through command of self.

That is the real point.

RICHIE SPEAKS

Here is one Richie rule:

Before you command a room…

command yourself.

Another:

Presence begins before you speak.

And one more:

Confidence gets attention.

Character keeps it.

PEARLS FROM THE BOOKS

From the spirit of Pearls for the Soul:

“Presence is the part of you that arrives before the words do.”

From the spirit of God I AM:

“What is grounded within you eventually becomes visible around you.”

From the spirit of It Is Finished:

“Release the need to perform and let disciplined character speak for itself.”

PEARLS INSIGHT

Professional presence is a combination of competence, self-awareness, communication, appearance, emotional control, courtesy, and consistency.

It is not charisma alone.

It is not clothing alone.

It is not confidence alone.

Strong presence develops when people repeatedly experience alignment between:

what you know,

what you say,

what you do,

and how you treat others.

That consistency builds credibility.

PEARLS CONNECTION

This connects directly with FIRST IMPRESSIONS.

Presence begins forming before the conversation gets very far.

It also connects with THE TONE OF YOUR VOICE SPEAKS TOO.

Words are only part of what people experience.

And MORE VALUABLE THAN GOLD…A PERSON’S WORD reminds us that credibility gives presence weight.

FINAL SAY

I would like to present PRESENCE for your consideration.

Not performance.

Not ego.

Not pretending.

PRESENCE.

Know your field.

Practice your manners.

Build your confidence.

Keep your humility.

Master your craft.

Control your reactions.

Let your actions speak.

And when you walk into a room…

do not worry about owning the room.

Own YOURSELF.

The rest has a way of following.
