The best speed is not always faster. Sometimes it is the pace at which faith, wisdom and God’s timing can travel with you.
The best speed of all is GODSPEED—the speed at which God moves in your life.
May all that is truly yours find its way to you freely and without unnecessary struggle.
May we continue examining ourselves, letting go of what did not work well and making room for what does.
Godspeed to all who journey.
THE SPEED OF GOD
Godspeed is traditionally offered as a blessing of success, safety and goodwill.
But I like to use it literally too.
Is there anything higher or more beneficial than God and you traveling through life together?
A friend closer than a brother.
A light that never fades.
A love that never perishes.
Godspeed does not necessarily mean fast.
It means accompanied.

FASTER IS NOT ALWAYS FORWARD
We often assume that movement must be rapid to be successful.
Faster decisions.
Faster results.
Faster answers.
Faster arrival.
But speed without direction can carry us farther from where we need to be.
Godspeed may require movement.
It may also require patience, preparation, recovery or stillness.
The important question is not merely, “How fast am I going?”
It is, “What am I moving toward—and who is traveling with me?”
THE BREATH OF GOD
God is the One who travels with us even through the valley of the shadow of death.
The valley does not prove that God has departed.
Darkness does not extinguish the Breath of God.
Faith reminds us that we do not travel alone before, during or after the difficult passage.
Fear may still visit. Courage is not the complete absence of fear.
Courage is continuing to move while trusting that fear does not have the final authority.
The Breath of God cannot be extinguished.
THE VALLEY
Everyone encounters valleys.
Loss.
Illness.
Uncertainty.
Disappointment.
Loneliness.
A change we did not request.
Faith should not be used to blame someone for entering a valley or remaining there longer than expected.
Not every hardship results from personal interference, weak belief or a wrong decision.
Sometimes the faithful journey simply travels through difficult terrain.
Godspeed means God is present there too.
A FRIEND CLOSER THAN A BROTHER
Human companionship is precious.
We need family, friends, communities and trustworthy helpers.
Yet even the most devoted person cannot accompany us into every thought, every midnight fear or every private moment of the soul.
Faith speaks of a Presence that can.
A friend closer than a brother.
A witness to what cannot be explained.
A companion who knows the whole story even when our words fail.
LESS IS MORE
Less of the anxious, controlling self—and more room for God.
This does not mean erasing your personality, intelligence or responsibility.
It means loosening the grip of the ego that insists everything depends entirely upon you.
Less forcing.
Less performing.
Less pretending.
Less chasing approval.
More listening.
More humility.
More trust.
More peace.
Less of what exhausts the soul creates room for more of what restores it.
YOUR PORTION
Faith teaches that God has a portion prepared for each life.
We may not know its size, shape or timing.
It may not resemble another person’s portion.
Comparison can make us overlook what has already been placed before us.
A calling does not need to be famous to be sacred.
A quiet act of care may be part of your portion.
A courageous boundary may be part of it.
Rest, healing, service, creativity and beginning again may all belong.
Do not reject your portion because it arrived without applause.
A FATHER TO THE INNER CHILD
Many adults still carry a frightened, wounded or neglected inner child.
That younger part may continue seeking protection, reassurance and belonging.
Faith can introduce the image of God as a loving Father—present, patient and unwilling to abandon the child within.
This does not erase past injury.
Healing may also require counseling, supportive relationships, medical care or other professional help.
Faith does not have to compete with healing resources.
It can help us become willing to receive them.
BATTLE OF THE WILLS
Do not let your life become an endless battle of wills.
My way against God’s way.
My schedule against reality.
My pride against what the lesson is trying to teach.
“Thy will be done” does not mean becoming passive or accepting abuse, injustice or preventable harm.
It means surrendering the belief that our limited view must control every outcome.
Letting go and letting God is no idle boast.
It is a continuing practice.
WHAT INTERFERES?
We can interfere with our own peace through pride, denial, resentment, dishonesty or an unwillingness to change.
But we should not assume every delay or disappointment is our fault.
Life includes other people’s choices, natural events, injustice and mysteries we cannot fully explain.
Self-examination should bring clarity—not endless self-accusation.
Ask what belongs to you.
Take responsibility for that.
Then release what never belonged in your hands.
RELAX A LITTLE
Cease some of the unnecessary struggling.
Release zealous ambition when it begins consuming your health, relationships or character.
Be careful of false rewards.
Do not spend your whole journey chasing earthly carrots that continually move farther down the road.
Ambition can build.
Pride can blind.
Pleasure can refresh.
Excess can imprison.
Keep everything in its proper place.
EARTHLY CARROTS
Some rewards look nourishing from a distance but leave the soul hungry after we reach them.
Recognition.
Possessions.
Status.
Control.
The need to be right.
These things are not automatically evil, but they make poor gods.
Do not trade what cannot fade for something that expires as soon as the crowd turns away.
Embrace what cannot be stolen by changing circumstances.
Faith.
Truth.
Love.
Character.
The peace of knowing you traveled honorably.
LET IT COME
Not everything valuable must be chased until the soul collapses.
Some things arrive through preparation, patience and becoming ready to receive them.
Continue doing your responsible part.
Plant.
Water.
Learn.
Adjust.
But allow room for timing.
May what is yours come forward and serve you now and in the seasons ahead.
THE JOURNEY CONTINUES
A journey includes movement, rest, wrong turns, discoveries and landscapes we could not see from where we began.
Do not judge the entire trip by one difficult mile.
Do not confuse a pause with an ending.
Do not assume a detour means abandonment.
Keep your attention on the Light.
The road may change, but the traveling continues.
FINAL THOUGHT
Godspeed is not a command to hurry.
It is a blessing that God’s presence, wisdom and timing accompany you.
Move when it is time to move.
Rest when rest is required.
Release what has stopped working.
Carry forward what remains true.
May the road rise with purpose beneath you.
PEARLS INSIGHT (SEO)
Trusting God’s timing can encourage patience, spiritual peace, resilience and thoughtful decision-making during life transitions. Moving at a healthy pace allows faith, wisdom, responsibility and emotional well-being to travel together.

Where are you trying to force speed into something that may require patience, healing or clearer direction?
Consider whether slower might actually move you forward.
RICHIE SPEAKS
Do not race past the blessing because you are in a hurry to reach the destination.
