The world tells us to move faster. God reminds us to move with Him. There is no speed safer, wiser, or more powerful than GODSPEED.

THE BEST SPEED OF ALL

The best speed of all is GODSPEED—the speed at which God moves within your life.

May everything that has been prepared for you find its way to you freely, naturally, and without unnecessary struggle. May we continue examining ourselves, releasing what did not work, and making room for what does.

There is a pace for your life.

There is a path with your name on it.

There is a portion that belongs to you.

You do not have to run past it, wrestle it away from someone else, or exhaust yourself trying to force it into existence.

Walk with God and let GODSPEED carry you.

THE SPEED OF GOD

GODSPEED has traditionally been offered as a blessing of success, safety, and good wishes to someone beginning a journey.

I like to use it literally too.

What speed could be greater or more beneficial than the speed at which God chooses to move through your life?

The world encourages hurry.

Faith encourages trust.

Fear says, “You are falling behind.”

God says, “Walk with Me.”

Is there anything greater than going through life with the One who is closer than a brother, whose light never fades, whose love never perishes, and whose presence does not abandon you when the road becomes difficult?

Speed without direction can get you lost faster.

GODSPEED gives you both direction and companionship.

THE BREATH OF GOD

God will travel with you through the valley, across the mountain, around the obstacle, and directly through whatever cannot be avoided.

Before the trouble, He is there.

During the trouble, He is there.

After the trouble, He remains.

PAUSE FOR CAUSE.

The shadow may appear, but a shadow cannot exist without light.

That means even when darkness seems to surround you, light is already present somewhere nearby.

Do not allow people, circumstances, fear, or appearances to convince you that God has forsaken you.

The breath of God cannot be extinguished by the opinions of men.

Believe this if you are going to believe anything: you are not traveling alone.

LESS IS MORE

Less of you and more of Him does not make you smaller.

It makes room for something greater.

Less forcing.

Less worrying.

Less controlling.

Less trying to prove yourself to people who have no authority over your purpose.

More trust.

More peace.

More patience.

More room for God to work.

When we step aside from our frantic attempts to control every outcome, the portion God has set aside for us can come forward and serve us now—and during the times still to come.

God becomes a Father to the inner child who is tired of carrying what was never meant for that child to carry.

THE BATTLE OF THE WILLS

Do not allow life to become one long battle of wills.

We sometimes say we want God’s guidance while insisting that He approve the route we already selected.

We ask Him to lead—but keep both hands tightly wrapped around the steering wheel.

Then we wonder why we are tired.

“Let go and let God” is not an idle expression. It is a spiritual mystery learned through practice.

It does not mean doing nothing.

It means doing your part without trying to do God’s part too.

Work—but do not worship the work.

Prepare—but do not become imprisoned by the plan.

Move—but remain willing to be redirected.

Trust that God can see around corners you cannot see around yet.

RELAX A LITTLE

Cease struggling against everything.

Release zealous ambition that demands results at any cost. Let go of pride, false rewards, earthly carrots, and temporary pleasures that promise fulfillment but leave the soul hungry.

Anything the world gives can eventually fade, change, or be taken away.

What God places within you travels with you.

Peace travels.

Faith travels.

Love travels.

Purpose travels.

Truth travels.

These treasures do not need to be stored in a suitcase, protected in a vault, or approved by another human being.

They belong to the soul.

YOU WERE CREATED FOR THIS

You were not created merely to rush from one obligation to another until time runs out.

You were created to journey with God.

You were created to learn, love, serve, grow, receive, release, and become.

The road will not always be smooth. Some parts will be steep. Some turns will confuse you. Some valleys will test what you claim to believe.

But GODSPEED does not promise the absence of a journey.

It promises that you do not have to make the journey alone.

LET ALL THIS COME TO YOU

Allow peace to reach you.

Allow wisdom to instruct you.

Allow love to soften you.

Allow God to correct, redirect, protect, and prepare you.

What belongs to you does not require you to destroy yourself trying to obtain it.

Move when it is time to move.

Wait when it is time to wait.

Release what God is removing.

Receive what God is providing.

And through it all, travel at GODSPEED.

FINAL THOUGHT

The fastest route is not always God’s route. Sometimes God slows us down because something must be learned, avoided, healed, or prepared. Trusting His pace protects us from arriving too early at something we are not yet ready to carry.
