Bad news arrives uninvited.
Problems appear without warning.
Challenges test our patience and resolve.

Yet somehow…
The solution is already on its way.
I have long believed that every problem carries within it the seed of a solution.
Every challenge.
Every setback.
Every disappointment.
Every unexpected turn.
Somewhere within the circumstance lies an answer waiting to be discovered.
That belief has served me well throughout life.
Not because life has been free of hardship.
Quite the opposite.
But because I have learned that problems and solutions often travel together.
THERE IS A RHYME AND A REASON TO EVERYTHING.
If I had my choice, perhaps answers would arrive in dreams.
Or maybe an angel would appear with perfect instructions.
That sounds appealing.
Yet life usually chooses a different path.
Instead, it gives us circumstances.
Questions.
Obstacles.
And opportunities disguised as problems.
Many people see only the obstacle.
I have trained myself to look for the lesson.
Then the opportunity.
Then the solution.
Because I know it is coming.
When someone tells me they have good news and bad news, I always ask for the bad news first.
Not because I enjoy it.
Because it is the part that requires attention.
Good news generally takes care of itself.
Bad news needs understanding.
It needs action.
It needs wisdom.
It is the squeaky wheel that requires the oil.
The sooner we address it, the sooner we move forward.
DO NOT LET YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED.
That simple instruction contains tremendous wisdom.
Notice it does not say ignore the problem.
It does not say pretend everything is fine.
It does not say deny reality.
Instead, it reminds us not to surrender our peace while facing reality.
There is a difference.
You can acknowledge a storm without becoming the storm.
You can face a challenge without becoming overwhelmed by it.
You can recognize difficulty without giving up hope.
As I wrote in Pearls for the Soul:
“Faith is not believing there are no mountains. Faith is believing you can climb them.”
— Richie Naggar, Pearls for the Soul
THIS TOO SHALL PASS.
History has proven that difficult seasons eventually move on.
Storms pass.
Night becomes morning.
Winter gives way to spring.
The challenge before you today will one day become part of your story.
The question is:
Who will you become while moving through it?
WHY DO THESE THINGS HAPPEN?
Many people ask that question.
Perhaps because growth requires resistance.
Consider the matador.
No one becomes skilled by facing easy bulls.
The difficult bulls create the matador.
Consider the mountain climber.
Strength is not built at the summit.
Strength is built on the climb.
Every challenge develops something.
Patience.
Character.
Wisdom.
Perseverance.
Compassion.
Humility.
Courage.
Without resistance, many of these qualities would remain dormant.
Sometimes the obstacle is actually the teacher.
IF YOU HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING ELSE…
WHY NOT TRY FAITH?
Faith does not mean sitting still and doing nothing.
Faith means doing everything you can do…
Then trusting beyond that.
It means showing up.
Doing the work.
Facing the challenge.
Making the effort.
And then resting in the knowledge that not everything depends on you.
Some things require time.
Some things require patience.
Some things require grace.
Fight the good fight.
Address the problem.
Seek the solution.
Remain teachable.
Stay open.
Stay hopeful.
Stay grateful.
Then allow life to unfold.
The meaning behind many of our struggles is rarely revealed at the beginning.
It usually becomes clear looking back.
What once felt like a burden becomes a blessing.
What once seemed like an obstacle becomes a doorway.
What once looked like defeat becomes preparation.
The troubled heart often sees only the storm.
Faith sees the sunrise beyond it.
So whatever challenge stands before you today…
Face it.
Learn from it.
Grow through it.
And remember:
This too shall pass.
Have faith.
The solution may already be on its way.
