Procrastination looks harmless at first…

but delay has a way of stealing time, weakening purpose and training the self to avoid what should be done now. The theft or loss from this is subtle

Procrastination is the action of delaying or postponing something intentionally and habitually that should be getting done.

For kids in school, this may be homework, cleaning your room, chores or correcting your ways.

For business people?

It can become the kiss of death…

waiting around for the final smooch to seal the loss if you keep putting things off unwisely.

HOW ABOUT THESE?

Repairs.

You know they need to be done and the message visits every day.

Apologies.

Saying “I am sorry” loses power when delay keeps being added to it.

Treating yourself well.

Why put that off?

Taking a risk.

The entrance to the land of gain is beckoning.

Saving money.

That should begin right after you say the words.

Lending someone a hand.

Become less good at not doing this and instant rewards will visit.

Waiting for something to change…

when YOU are the change agent available.

Get up and get going.

ABUSE OF PERSONAL POWER

Putting off something that has to be done is a paradox.

It is a lazy man’s game that cannot be won if you keep playing it.

Procrastination is your power of choice being misused and abused.

Allowed?

Yes.

Profitable?

No.

That is why some fare better than others.

They take choice seriously.

PROCRASTINATORS BECOME WORSE IN THEIR THINKING

If this is not brought under personal supervision, it grows.

You become skilled at arguing against feedback.

You drown out input.

You become unreachable.

Uninviting.

And before long, your world becomes smaller, weaker and less effective.

Whoa.

PROCRASTINATION INVITES EXCUSES

Once activated, procrastination takes on a life of its own.

Failure begins hanging around.

Low motivation pulls up a chair.

Excuses multiply.

The only way to remove this intruder is to stop using it.

But watch this…

procrastination will even try to delay you from stopping procrastination.

That is how slick it is.

IT WILL HURT TO DE-ACTIVATE

Changing this pattern can feel painful at first.

Why?

Because you are waking up a part of yourself that may have been sitting idle too long.

The bugs come out.

The dust flies.

The hinges creak.

Resistance appears.

But keep going.

Once discipline becomes part of your daily routine, it begins to hum with precision.

Then results follow.

Guaranteed.

ANTI-PROCRASTINATION SIGNS

If you start something…

finish it.

Or do not start it.

No excuses.

Excuses invite procrastination instantly.

The urge not to do it is expected.

Work past that.

Resistance showing itself is often a sure sign of growth.

Go beyond the resistance…

and retrieve what belongs to you.

THE LETHAL ANSWER

Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today.

Still kills procrastination on contact.

Because today has power.

Today has opportunity.

Today has movement.

Tomorrow has excuses waiting.

PROCRASTINATION: WHAT GOOD IS IT?

Very little…

unless it wakes you up to how much of your own life you have been delaying.

Do it.

Start it.

Finish it.

Move.

Your life is waiting on your participation.

Did this speak to your heart or life journey?
