Some things simply make sense.

Others clearly do not.

And somewhere between wisdom and nonsense…
human beings struggle to find common ground.

Why do sense, no sense and nonsense all coexist together?

Perhaps the answer is simple:

So that human beings may choose wisely between them.

But here is where things become complicated…

What makes sense to one person may not make sense to another.

And because of that, human beings constantly test, question, challenge and debate one another’s understanding of reality itself.

Eventually though…

truth tends to move toward common ground.

Toward common sense.

MAKES NO SENSE

Whenever we encounter another person’s reasoning and disagree with it, tension often appears almost immediately.

Why?

Because “sense” matters deeply to human beings.

When something truly makes sense, it often feels self-evident.

It requires little explanation.

But when something does NOT make sense…

it announces itself loudly.

Arguments begin.
Defenses rise.
Passions awaken.

TAKES ONE TO KNOW ONE

There is something refreshing about meeting people who quietly conduct themselves with humility, balance and wholesome awareness.

No arrogance.
No performance.
No unnecessary drama.

Just grounded behavior.

And when you encounter that kind of person, something inside you recognizes it almost instantly.

“It takes one to know one.”

Sense recognizes sense.

NO-SENSE EXAMPLE

Much “no-sense” behavior grows strongest where identity, insecurity, peer pressure and emotional confusion dominate.

People begin following crowds instead of conscience.

The herd mentality takes over.

“Everyone else is doing it”
becomes the reasoning.

Even when common sense quietly objects.

Until eventually someone breaks away from the crowd and begins thinking independently again.

IT CONNECTS US

Common sense exists within all people to some degree.

The challenge is helping people reconnect to it when they drift away.

That is why societies create:
laws,
guidelines,
rules,
authority structures,
and systems of accountability.

These things attempt to preserve order until the inner compass awakens properly within the individual.

INSIDE… NOT OUTSIDE

True direction comes from within.

When a person develops a healthy moral compass, you can feel it.

Their life gains meaning.
Direction.
Purpose.

They stop moving randomly through life.

The inner compass begins guiding them instead of emotional trends or outside pressures.

QUESTIONS ACTIVATE THE SYSTEM

Whenever I encounter something that does not make sense to me, I ask questions.

Not immediately to attack…
but to understand.

Because sometimes what appears foolish at first may simply be something I do not yet fully understand.

Remaining open while remaining thoughtful is important.

Questions activate deeper understanding.

IT TAKES EFFORT TO OVERRIDE

Interestingly enough…

common sense often operates naturally and quietly.

Nonsense requires far more maintenance.

Excuses.
Defenses.
Explanations.
Constant emotional energy.

That is why many people “come to their senses” when life finally slows them down.

Stillness often restores clarity.

LET ME REPEAT THAT BACK TO YOU

Sometimes when a person insists upon something that clearly lacks reason, I simply repeat their position back to them calmly.

No argument.

Just reflection.

In hearing their own position repeated aloud, they often finally hear themselves clearly for the first time.

Sometimes that alone plants the seed of awakening.

TAKES TWO TO REASON

You cannot force reason upon another human being.

Timing matters.

Readiness matters.

Pushing too hard often creates resistance instead of understanding.

Sometimes wisdom requires planting the seed…
then stepping back.

LET’S BE REASONABLE

Finding fair and mutual ground is worth the effort.

Reason helps move people closer together while pride pushes them apart.

The danger comes when someone no longer cares about truth, fairness or understanding at all.

Indifference is often harder to overcome than ignorance.

COMING TO YOUR SENSES

When a person truly “comes to their senses,” others usually recognize it immediately.

Why?

Because common sense touches something universal within us all.

And whenever human beings willingly meet upon that common ground…

life begins making more sense again.
