THE PROBLEMS OF LIFE…YOU HAVE TO BE ALIVE TO HAVE THEM

Problems come with life.

So do surprises.

So do lessons.

If that is part of the price of being alive…

I’LL TAKE THE PACKAGE.

With life comes the price of life.

You have to LIVE it.

Not just exist.

Not merely get by.

Not race through it so fast that you never taste any of it.

NO.

Life is to be:

savored,

handled carefully,

sampled,

tasted,

experienced.

The marrow of life is not found by standing outside the meal.

You have to SIT DOWN and eat.

And along with the good comes something else.

Lessons.

Problems.

Unexpected events.

Surprises.

The unknown.

That is part of the package.

The good news?

YOU HAVE TO BE ALIVE TO HAVE THESE PROBLEMS.

ICE COLD LEMONADE COMING RIGHT UP

A lot of what happens to us can be used.

That includes problems.

Especially problems.

Lemons show up?

Fine.

Make lemonade.

But make GOOD lemonade.

LOL.

The trick is to observe more…

and fret less.

Imagine watching a parade instead of being dragged through it.

Watching the play instead of becoming every character.

Stepping far enough back from the problem to actually SEE it.

That little distance helps.

When something unexpected approaches…

you often feel it first.

That little stirring.

That tightening.

The stomach says:

SOMETHING IS COMING.

BUTTERFLY ALERT.

PAUSE FOR CAUSE.

That is not always panic.

Sometimes it is simply your system telling you:

MAN YOUR STATIONS.

WHO’S THAT KNOCKING AT MY DOOR?

Now comes the lesson you probably did not order.

Something is knocking.

A problem.

A challenge.

A decision.

A surprise.

Fine.

Open the door.

Look at it.

Ask:

WHAT ARE YOU HERE TO TEACH?

That changes the relationship.

If you refuse to deal with the problem…

the problem may begin dealing with YOU.

Better to take command of what can be commanded.

Assess it.

Break it down.

Use what you have.

Ask for help if needed.

Then start moving.

COVETED LEARNING CURVE

Here is another guarantee.

While learning…

you may look foolish.

You may stumble.

You may misjudge.

You may meet fear directly.

You may fall.

Welcome to the learning curve.

LOL.

That is not evidence that you are failing.

That may be evidence that you are participating.

A being designed for motion…

needs motion.

You cannot park yourself permanently and still expect growth.

The muscles of life develop through use.

So do the muscles of judgment.

YOU GOT THIS

Everybody has some form of:

skills,

talents,

abilities,

experience,

gifts,

instinct,

resourcefulness.

Some of these remain hidden until something calls them forward.

You do not always know what you have…

until you NEED it.

Then suddenly…

there it is.

Calmness you did not know you possessed.

Strength you had never tested.

Patience you thought was missing.

Problem-solving ability that had never been invited to work.

Life introduces you to parts of yourself.

Sometimes through pleasure.

Sometimes through problems.

FREE FOR THE DOING

One of the greatest gifts you can develop is SELF-AWARENESS.

It cannot be purchased.

But it can be practiced.

Observe yourself.

What happens when pressure arrives?

What happens when someone disagrees with you?

What happens when you are afraid?

What happens when things go wrong?

What happens when things go RIGHT?

That awareness teaches.

But for it to work well…

the mind needs enough calm to observe.

The emotions need enough discipline not to take over everything.

And your attention needs to be PRESENT.

Then you begin seeing patterns.

That is valuable.

THE CREATION OF STRENGTH

Consider the body.

Perform a physical task repeatedly…

and the body adapts.

Muscles strengthen.

Coordination improves.

Movement becomes easier.

The body is essentially saying:

I SEE WHAT YOU KEEP ASKING ME TO DO.

I AM PREPARING FOR IT.

We call some of that:

STRENGTH.

Life can work similarly.

Repeated exposure to manageable difficulty can build:

confidence,

judgment,

patience,

resilience,

and skill.

Not because suffering is automatically good.

But because adaptation is real.

YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES…AND WHAT YOU DON’T HAVE CAN BE BUILT

I would tweak one part of the original thought here.

We should not tell ourselves that we already possess everything needed for every possible situation.

Sometimes we DON’T.

Sometimes we need:

training,

help,

medicine,

advice,

equipment,

experience,

or another person.

That is not weakness.

That is common sense.

The stronger belief is this:

I CAN BEGIN WITH WHAT I HAVE…

AND GET WHAT ELSE I NEED.

That keeps confidence connected to reality.

THE POWER OF BELIEVING

Beliefs matter because they influence:

what we notice,

what we attempt,

how long we persist,

and what we expect.

But beliefs work best when connected to reality.

Believe:

I CAN LEARN.

I CAN ADAPT.

I CAN ASK.

I CAN RECOVER.

I CAN TRY ANOTHER WAY.

Those beliefs create movement.

Be careful with beliefs that say:

I CAN’T.

NOTHING WILL WORK.

THIS ALWAYS HAPPENS TO ME.

Those can become prisons if they are never examined.

Hear people out.

Listen.

Learn.

But test what enters your belief system.

Not every belief somebody hands you belongs in your house.

PROBLEMS ARE NOT THE SAME AS PURPOSE

Another distinction.

Problems are part of life.

But they are not the purpose of life.

You do not need to go looking for trouble to grow.

LOL.

Enough difficulty will eventually find you.

The objective is not to glorify problems.

It is to USE them when they arrive.

That is different.

A problem may become:

a teacher,

a warning,

a redirection,

a strengthening exercise,

or simply something that needs solving.

Do the work.

Take the lesson.

Then let it go.

DON’T BUILD A SHRINE TO THE PROBLEM

People can become attached to problems too.

Talking about them.

Retelling them.

Rehearsing them.

Building identity around them.

That is not the goal.

Solve what can be solved.

Accept what must be accepted.

Change what can be changed.

Get help where help is needed.

Then keep living.

The problem is an EVENT.

It does not need to become your permanent title.

RICHIE SPEAKS

Here is one Richie rule:

If problems are part of the price of being alive…

I will pay the bill.

Another:

Do not waste the problem.

Learn something before it leaves.

And one more:

You do not need every answer before you begin.

You need enough awareness to find the next one.

PEARLS FROM THE BOOKS

From the spirit of Pearls for the Soul:

“Difficulty becomes useful when awareness turns it into instruction.”

From the spirit of God I AM:

“What rises before you may reveal strength, wisdom, and help that remained unseen before the need appeared.”

From the spirit of It Is Finished:

“Take the lesson from the struggle and release the struggle when its work is done.”

PEARLS INSIGHT

Problems are an unavoidable part of a full life.

Their value does not come from suffering itself.

It comes from what can be developed through responding well:

problem-solving,

adaptation,

self-awareness,

resilience,

and judgment.

A healthy approach combines:

observation,

emotional regulation,

realistic assessment,

appropriate help,

and action.

The goal is not to deny difficulty.

It is to prevent difficulty from becoming larger than necessary.

PEARLS CONNECTION

This connects directly with BEING ALIVE COMES WITH LIFE’S PROBLEMS.

The problem is not evidence that life has failed.

It is evidence that life is active.

It also connects with LEMONS OF LIFE = LEMONADE.

What arrives sour may still become useful.

And STEP BY STEP YOU WILL PREVAIL reminds us that most problems are solved not in one heroic move…

but through the next workable step.

FINAL SAY

Problems come with life.

Fine.

So do:

joy,

love,

food,

sunsets,

laughter,

friends,

surprises,

discovery,

and another morning.

I will take the whole package.

When the problem arrives…

observe it.

Do not immediately become it.

Ask:

WHAT IS THIS?

WHAT PART CAN I CONTROL?

WHAT DO I NEED?

WHAT CAN I LEARN?

Then move.

Use your skills.

Build the ones you do not yet have.

Accept help.

Stay aware.

And remember something simple.

A person with no life…

has no life problems.

So if the price of being here is dealing with a few solvable problems along the way…

bring me the lemons.

ICE COLD LEMONADE COMING RIGHT UP.

Because if I have problems…

I am still here.

And being here means…

I still have LIFE.
