Waiting…
isn’t wasted
when God is preparing something.
Very few people enjoy waiting.
We wait at doctor’s offices.
Airports.
Traffic lights.
Restaurants.
Phone calls.
Answers to prayer.
Waiting often feels like nothing is happening.
Yet I’ve begun to wonder if the waiting room is one of life’s greatest classrooms.
Seeds wait beneath the soil.
Babies wait before birth.
Masterpieces wait inside rough blocks of marble.
Even the sunrise waits for its appointed hour.
Perhaps waiting isn’t God’s way of delaying us.
Perhaps it’s His way of developing us.
THE PAUSE
Not every delay is a denial.
Sometimes life slows us down so we can notice what speed kept hidden.
Patience is more than waiting.
It’s trusting while we wait.
SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
The hardest part of waiting isn’t the passing of time.
It’s believing something worthwhile is happening while we cannot yet see it.
PUT LEGS ON IT
Instead of asking,
“How much longer?”
Ask,
“What can I learn while I’m here?”
Read.
Pray.
Observe.
Encourage someone else who’s waiting.
Grow where you’ve been temporarily planted.
