Some people are exhausted from life.
Others are exhausted from what they refuse to put down.
There is a difference.
WHAT ARE YOU CARRYING?

I watched a hiker climbing a mountain trail.
His backpack was enormous.
Straps pulling against his shoulders.
Sweat pouring down his face.
Each step looked harder than the last.
Finally he stopped.
Set the backpack on the ground.
And laughed.
Half the things inside were unnecessary.
He had been carrying weight he did not need.
I thought to myself:
How many of us do the same thing?
THE INVISIBLE BACKPACK
Most people carry things nobody can see.
Old regrets.
Past mistakes.
Broken relationships.
Guilt.
Fear.
Resentment.
Disappointments.
Unforgiveness.
Years pass.
The load grows heavier.
Yet many never stop long enough to ask:
Why am I still carrying this?
THE PEARLS CONNECTION
Throughout Pearls for the Soul there is a recurring truth:
Not everything that belongs in your past belongs in your future.
Some lessons should be remembered.
Some burdens should be released.
Wisdom knows the difference.
THE WEIGHT OF YESTERDAY
Many people allow yesterday to steal today.
A mistake made years ago.
A criticism spoken decades ago.
A failure long since completed.
Still riding along in the backpack.
Still taking up space.
Still draining energy.
Still shaping decisions.
The past can be a teacher.
It should not become a permanent roommate.
GIRL PEARL
“A woman becomes lighter when she stops carrying opinions that were never hers to begin with.”
— Pearls for Girls
Not every burden belongs to you.
MANOGRAM
“A man grows stronger not only by what he carries, but by what he finally lays down.”
— When Will Men Come Back Again?
Letting go is often an act of strength.
Not weakness.
THE MOUNTAIN AHEAD
Every worthwhile journey requires energy.
Purpose requires energy.
Love requires energy.
Growth requires energy.
Service requires energy.
Why waste precious strength carrying burdens that no longer serve you?
RICHIE SPEAKING…
Take inventory.
Open the backpack.
Look inside.
What still belongs?
What needs released?
What needs forgiven?
What needs healed?
Feed the soul.
Travel lighter.
Walk forward.
Because the mountain ahead is difficult enough without carrying rocks from yesterday.
And sometimes the greatest freedom in life begins with two simple words:
Let go.
— Richie
