You do not always need the whole answer.
Sometimes you only need one thing:
AN OPPORTUNITY.
Then get up…
get going…
and meet it.

Where there is opportunity…
life and adventure begin to beckon.
But opportunity is an interesting thing.
You do not always capture it.
Sometimes you JOIN it.
You meet it where it is.
You recognize it.
You respond.
You move.
Then the next thing begins opening.
So where do we start?
Where do we go?
How do we seek our fortunes?
Sometimes the answer is much simpler than we make it.
LOOK AT WHAT IS IN FRONT OF YOU.
And then…
DO SOMETHING WITH IT.
WORTHY NOTE
Here is something worth including in your prayers for God likes those that
use what He has given them. That’s why this prayer is answered often
JUST GIVE ME AN OPPORTUNITY.
Not necessarily:
Give me the whole outcome.
Give me the guarantee.
Give me everything already finished.
No.
Give me an opportunity…
and let me meet it with what has already been placed within me.
That is a very different prayer.
START HERE
I can remember fondly being very young…
naive…
newly married…
and wondering about:
jobs,
houses,
children,
family,
money,
and the future.
I did not know very much.
But I did understand one persistent thing.
GET UP… GET GOING… GET OUT THERE
Get up in the morning.
Get out of bed.
Shave.
Shower.
Dress.
Go somewhere.
Do something.
Meet people.
Ask questions.
Learn.
Repeat.
That sounds almost too simple.
But something happens when you keep moving.
Paths appear.
People appear.
Information appears.
Possibilities appear.
One thing begins leading to another.
Soon enough…
progress starts presenting miscellaneous opportunities.
Some big.
Some small.
Some obvious.
Some disguised.
But all of them asking the same question:
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH ME?
PAUSE FOR CAUSE.
Opportunity usually requires participation.
JUMP IN AND BEGIN
You may not know everything.
Good.
You are not required to.
You only need enough to begin.
Take the step.
Make the call.
Show up.
Ask the question.
Submit the application.
Meet the person.
Take the class.
Investigate the idea.
OPEN THE DOOR.
You do not need to know where every road leads before you leave the driveway.
Sometimes movement teaches you what thinking alone never could.
OUR DEFAULT NATURE
Human beings are built for engagement.
We are mobile.
We observe.
We adapt.
We think on our feet.
We respond.
We investigate.
We learn.
We rise to occasions.
That is no accident.
Wherever people go…
they engage what is around them.
Land.
Work.
Trade.
Ideas.
Relationships.
Problems.
Possibilities.
We have always done this.
It is part of our nature.
Something appears.
We ask:
WHAT CAN I DO WITH THIS?
That question has built a lot of human history.
PUT LEGS ON THAT IDEA
What we do with opportunity determines much of what follows.
That is why gifts, talents, abilities and skills matter.
They are tools.
But tools sitting still do not build anything.
If you never pick up the shovel…
the hole remains an idea.
If you never write the first sentence…
the book remains in your head.
If you never make the call…
the relationship never begins.
If you never submit the application…
the opportunity cannot answer you.
PUT LEGS ON IT.
That expression works here perfectly.
An idea without movement is still only an idea.
Opportunity loves movement.
TURN OVER THE ROCK
You never know what may be underneath the next rock.
So look.
Investigate.
Open doors.
Explore.
Ask.
Listen.
There is no guarantee that every opportunity is good.
Some are not.
Some are wrong for you.
Some are distractions.
Some cost too much.
Fine.
That is where judgment comes in.
But if you never investigate…
you never know.
YOU WILL KNOW
Where does it all begin?
For me…
with the desire to greet the day.
Get up.
Get moving.
Go toward the adventure.
Whatever you want to do may be waiting somewhere along a path you have not yet walked.
And you may not know exactly where paths merge…
cross…
split…
or lead.
That is all right.
YOU WILL KNOW…
once you get there.
RICHIE SPEAKS
Here is one Richie rule:
Do not ask for the whole staircase if you only need the next step.
Another:
Opportunity is often easier to recognize while moving than while sitting still.
And one more:
Ask for the opportunity.
Then be ready when it answers.
PEARLS FROM THE BOOKS
From the spirit of Pearls for the Soul:
“Opportunity becomes meaningful when willingness meets movement.”
From the spirit of God I AM:
“What has been placed within you often awakens when something outside you gives it a place to respond.”
From the spirit of It Is Finished:
“Stop waiting for perfect conditions and begin with what is available now.”
PEARLS INSIGHT
Opportunity does not always arrive as a dramatic breakthrough.
It often appears as:
a conversation,
a small opening,
a new contact,
a question,
a problem,
a request,
or a chance to try something unfamiliar.
The important part is readiness.
People who stay engaged, curious and willing to act are more likely to recognize useful possibilities when they appear.
PEARLS CONNECTION
This connects directly with WHAT ONE CAN DO… ANOTHER CAN DO.
Possibility becomes real when someone acts on it.
It also connects with ACTION PLANS REQUIRE MOVING WITH A PURPOSE.
The opportunity may open the door…
but YOU still have to walk through.
And FARMER ASKS: WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THIS FIELD? reminds us that the field cannot produce what we refuse to plant.
FINAL SAY
So what should you ask for?
Maybe not everything.
Maybe not certainty.
Maybe not the whole future.
Maybe just this:
GIVE ME AN OPPORTUNITY.
Give me the opening.
Give me the chance.
Give me the door.
Then let me bring:
my effort,
my judgment,
my gifts,
my skills,
my willingness,
and my legs.
Get up.
Get going.
Get out there.
Because sometimes the opportunity you have been asking for is already waiting…
and wondering when YOU are going to show up.
