You woke up this morning.
That alone changes everything.
Because before anything else happened…
You were given another day.
Every day is a good day.
Who told you otherwise?

What makes us think there is something wrong with the day itself?
Look how it begins.
You wake up.
Open your eyes.
Take a breath.
And there it is…
An entire day waiting for you.
What an extraordinary gift.
A whole day.
Twenty-four hours.
Given freely.
No invoice attached.
No receipt required.
No guarantee of another one tomorrow.
Just a day.
WHAT DOES IT REALLY MEAN TO WAKE UP IN THE MORNING?
Somewhere along the way, I think we lost the appreciation part.
The part that gives the day its meaning.
The part that reminds us we have been invited to participate in life once again.
The day is not meant to be mocked.
Not meant to be wasted.
Not meant to be complained about before it even begins.
It is meant to be lived.
THANK YOU FOR HAVING ME…TODAY.
Days are not designed to be perfect.
They are designed to be experienced.
Some bring sunshine.
Some bring storms.
Some bring victories.
Some bring lessons.
Some bring tears.
Some bring laughter.
Yet every one of them has value.
Every one of them contributes to the story.
Every one of them offers something that cannot be repeated.
NO TWO DAYS ARE ALIKE.
Think about that for a moment.
Not since the beginning of creation has there ever been another day exactly like today.
And there never will be again.
This sunrise.
These circumstances.
These opportunities.
These people.
This moment.
It has never existed before.
And it never will again.
That alone makes today priceless.
HOW DO YOU START YOUR DAY?
The birds seem to understand something we often forget.
They greet the morning with song.
Not because life is perfect.
But because life is present.
The flowers open.
The trees sway.
The rivers flow.
The sun rises.
Nature receives the day with gratitude.
Perhaps there is wisdom hidden in that.
As I wrote in Pearls for the Soul:
“A grateful heart sees gifts where others see ordinary things.”
— Richie Naggar, Pearls for the Soul
SOMETHING GREAT IS AT WORK HERE.
Consider the systems operating around us.
The water cycle.
The seasons.
The winds.
The oceans.
The stars.
Life itself.
The same water that nourished generations before us continues its journey today.
The world quietly goes about its work.
Faithfully.
Consistently.
Dependably.
And somehow we get to be part of it.
THE WINDS DO THEIR PART.
The wind never asks for applause.
It simply moves.
Carrying seeds.
Shaping landscapes.
Cooling the air.
Helping life continue.
An invisible servant doing its work.
Day after day.
There is something beautiful about that.
HERE IS A DAY FOR YOU TO SPEND.
Spend it wisely.
Spend it kindly.
Spend it gratefully.
Spend it courageously.
Spend it loving others.
Spend it learning.
Spend it growing.
Spend it helping.
Spend it living.
Because once today is gone, it joins eternity.
And another day takes its place.
GO NOW…AND DO GREAT THINGS.
Not necessarily famous things.
Not necessarily grand things.
Great things.
A kind word.
A helping hand.
A forgiving heart.
A grateful spirit.
A meaningful conversation.
A moment fully lived.
Those are great things.
Whoever keeps giving us these days deserves our gratitude.
The gift points back to the giver.
When we acknowledge the gift, we naturally honor the one who gave it.
So the next time someone says they are having a bad day…
Perhaps gently remind them.
The day itself is innocent.
It arrived as a gift.
What we do with it…
That part belongs to us.
— Richie
