One of the most peaceful days in life arrives when you stop competing with everyone else.

And start becoming yourself.

Many people spend their lives running races they never chose.

Trying to be richer.

More successful.

More popular.

More attractive.

More accomplished.

More recognized.

More admired.

The problem is not ambition.

The problem is comparison.

COMPARISON’S TRAP

Comparison quietly steals joy.

No matter how much you achieve, someone appears to have more.

A larger house.

A larger business.

A larger audience.

A larger bank account.

A larger spotlight.

If your happiness depends upon being ahead of everyone else, peace remains impossible.

Someone will always appear ahead.

THE WRONG SCOREBOARD

Many people are keeping score using numbers that have little to do with fulfillment.

Followers.

Likes.

Titles.

Possessions.

Status.

Recognition.

None of those things are automatically wrong.

But none of them can define your worth.

The scoreboard that matters is different.

Did you grow?

Did you learn?

Did you love?

Did you help?

Did you become more of who you were created to be?

That is the scoreboard worth watching.

PEARLS FROM THE BOOKS

One of the recurring themes in Pearls for Girls is the danger of measuring yourself against others.

As written in Pearls for Girls:

“A flower does not compete with another flower. It simply blooms.”

The wisdom is simple.

The rose is not trying to become a sunflower.

The sunflower is not trying to become a lily.

Each fulfills its purpose by becoming itself.

SO SHOULD YOU

Imagine how much energy becomes available when comparison disappears.

The energy spent envying can become gratitude.

The energy spent competing can become creating.

The energy spent impressing can become serving.

The energy spent pretending can become living.

WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE?

The greatest question is not:

“What are they doing?”

The greater question is:

“What am I called to do?”

Life becomes much clearer when your eyes leave other people’s paths and return to your own.

THE PEACE OF ENOUGH

At some point we discover something beautiful.

Enough is not a number.

Enough is a realization.

The realization that your worth was never determined by comparison.

It was present all along.

PEARLS CONNECTION

The soul flourishes when it embraces its unique purpose.

Comparison divides attention.

Purpose focuses it.

The more fully you become yourself, the less interest you have in competing with everyone else.

RICHIE SPEAKING

Some of the happiest people I’ve met were not the richest.

Not the most famous.

Not the most powerful.

They were simply comfortable being themselves.

That may be one of life’s greatest accomplishments.
