Common sense is not something reserved for the brilliant.
It is already in you.
The real test is whether you listen to it before the noise, fear, doubt, and outside opinions drown it out.
It is in all of us.
COMMON SENSE.

Generous doses of it too.
We all have some version of that inner mechanism that says:
“That makes sense.”
“That does not.”
“Go.”
“Stop.”
“Something is wrong here.”
Many people have had that natural sense suppressed over time.
They have learned to let outside sources, authority, fear, pressure, trends, advertising, friends, family, experts, and every other voice in the room govern them.
Now outside information can be useful.
Absolutely.
But eventually YOU have to live the life.
The only way to have your true destiny is to keep your common sense IN HOUSE and working.
Yours is as good as anybody else’s.
So why not use your own?
LEARN TO LISTEN TO YOU
A lot of the trouble that befalls us begins when we fail to listen to ourselves.
You know that little inner prompt?
Gentle.
Clear.
Usually brief.
It says:
“Don’t do that.”
“Call them.”
“Leave.”
“Wait.”
“Something is not right.”
Then if we ignore it…
the moment passes.
Later, we say:
“I KNEW IT.”
LOL.
Of course you did.
The problem was not knowing.
The problem was LISTENING.
That is often the beginning of straying off the true path of the self.
We know one thing…
then do another.
And afterward we wonder why everything feels off.
WELCOME THE CONSCIENCE
Alongside common sense is another excellent assistant:
CONSCIENCE.
Conscience works some pretty long hours.
Twenty-four seven.
No vacation.
No sick leave.
LOL.
It may not always tell you exactly what to do.
But it gets very talkative when you are doing something you know you should NOT be doing.
That discomfort matters.
It is information.
You may rationalize.
Explain.
Defend.
Blame.
But that little inner signal keeps tapping.
“Richie…
you know better.”
There it is.
Your internal warning system.
EXCLUSIVELY YOURS
Now here is something important.
Your conscience is personal.
What bothers you may not bother somebody else.
What somebody else can shrug off may stay with you all night.
That is why knowing yourself matters.
You have to understand your own boundaries.
Your own values.
Your own internal alarms.
Your own sense of what is right.
Do not constantly compare your moral compass with the person standing next to you.
You are carrying YOUR package.
Come to know it.
Respect it.
Trust it.
OUR COMMON BOND IS COMMON SENSE
Common sense has another interesting quality.
It can connect people who have absolutely nothing else in common.
Different ages.
Different backgrounds.
Different education.
Different careers.
Different places.
But when something is plainly sensible…
people recognize it.
Do not put your hand on the hot stove.
Do not spend money you do not have forever.
Do not keep trusting somebody who continually betrays you.
Do not drive faster because you are already late.
LOL.
Common sense cuts through quite a bit of nonsense.
If more people listened to the natural sense within themselves before reacting to everything outside themselves…
we might discover we agree on more than we think.
RICHIE SPEAKS
Here is one Richie rule:
If something inside you quietly says:
“This is a bad idea”…
do not make it prove itself.
LOL.
And another:
Common sense usually whispers first.
Consequences yell later.
One more:
You do not need a committee meeting every time your inner compass points north.
DON’T DOUBT YOURSELF
This connects directly with doubt.
We often KNOW…
then doubt what we know.
Then hesitate.
Then ask five people.
Then Google it.
Then ask five more.
LOL.
Pretty soon the original clear answer is buried under everybody else’s opinion.
Learn to listen.
Trust.
Then act.
That does not mean you will never be wrong.
You WILL be wrong.
Plenty.
Especially in the beginning.
That is part of learning how your own judgment works.
Mistakes do not mean your common sense failed.
Sometimes mistakes are how common sense gets sharpened.
GO NOW
Recognize mistakes as part of the learning curve.
Use your judgment.
See what happens.
Adjust.
Try again.
Over time, something begins to happen.
You and your common sense start working together instead of arguing with each other.
That is powerful.
You notice things sooner.
You make cleaner decisions.
You stop volunteering for obvious trouble.
You trust your own read of situations more.
And your confidence grows because it is no longer theoretical.
You have EXPERIENCE behind it.
PEARLS INSIGHT
Common sense is strengthened through awareness, experience, reflection, and personal responsibility.
The more consistently we listen to our conscience, observe results, and learn from mistakes, the more dependable our judgment becomes.
Trusting yourself does not mean believing you are always right.
It means becoming responsible enough to learn when you are wrong.
PEARLS CONNECTION
This connects directly with TELL DOUBT AND SECOND THOUGHTS TO GET LOST.
That Pearl dealt with unnecessary hesitation.
This one goes deeper.
Before doubt arrives, common sense may already have spoken.
And it also connects with NONSENSE MEANS COMMON SENSE NOT ENGAGED.
Many problems become complicated only after we ignore the simple thing we already knew.
PEARLS FROM THE BOOKS
Across the Pearls philosophy runs a recurring lesson:
The inner life matters.
Conscience.
Awareness.
Identity.
Discernment.
The quiet part of you often speaks before the noisy world has its turn.
Learning to hear that inner guidance is part of learning who you are.
FINAL THOUGHT
Common sense is not flashy.
It does not usually arrive with thunder.
It whispers.
Then waits.
The test is simple:
Will you listen?
Will you trust what you know?
Will you learn from your mistakes?
Will you stop handing your judgment over to everybody else?
Your common sense is already there.
Invite it back into the driver’s seat.
Then GO.
You and common sense make a pretty good team.
