If someone gives all they have, they gave more than the amount.
Doing your best is not measured by size…
but by sincerity.
Your effort and your word still mean something.

If someone gives you a nickel and it is all they had in the world, didn’t they give more than just a nickel? PAUSE. It’s all they had. Giving all you have in the moment you are in to a person or circumstance is all you can do. This is a very subjective dynamic because we all have different “all you can give.”
CAN YOU RECOGNIZE VALUE
Another worthy thing to explore is the built-in dynamic in us all called TRUST. We want to trust and we want to be trusted. There is something in us humans that wants to connect with others and for both or all the parties to walk away better for it. It is so rewarding too. But beware of the other edge of the sword….
THE PAIN OF MISTRUST
The betrayal or the letdown is often the price paid to find a good trust. Many times we must go through the not-so-good experiences to find and then truly appreciate the good one. Have we forgotten that a person’s word is supposed to mean something? If someone says to you they will or they won’t on a subject matter, shouldn’t they be believed? Yes, they should.
YOUR WORD SHOULD MEAN SOMETHING
I always begin by believing people are telling me the truth. To take someone’s word for something is normal and healthy to do. For anyone to break or injure that word is unacceptable behavior and needs correction. Wherever I go and whatever I run into, I take it at face value UNTIL I FIND OUT OTHERWISE. Remember, you are your word.
REPENTANCE… THANK GOD
It is interesting to note that we all start out with a clean slate. It is when we learn to trick, shade, or tell lies and then get away with it that harm comes upon us and others. Fortunately, there is a system where if you are sorry through the prompting of your conscience, you get a chance to change, not do it again, and go your way with a fresh start. Thank God for that.
THE VALUE OF HONESTY IS PROVEN
This tells me that the default nature of trust, honesty, decency, values, integrity, character, and doing the right thing is very prized if there is a continuous system to keep bringing us back to it when we fall or fail. The value has already been established. For someone to stand on good principles, especially during the storms of life, can only produce a superior human being.
DOING YOUR BEST
Doing your best is not about being perfect. It is about being present. It is about bringing what you truly have to the table and not holding back what is right, decent, and available in you. Some days your best will look strong and bold. Other days it may look quiet and simple. But if it is real, it counts.
KEEP YOUR WORD
Doing your best and keeping your word are two of the most coveted virtues left in this world. The giver values them. The receiver feels them. And life itself rewards them. Monitor this daily and you will always have something of real worth working in your favor.
