Love is one of the most sought after experiences in all human existence yet many spend their lives looking everywhere except within. True self-love is not vanity, ego or selfishness. It is the quiet realization that your life has value, meaning and purpose simply because you are here…

VANITY…NO

Vanity is not love but a forced admiration of the self that constantly requires feeding and approval. It exhausts the soul because it depends on outside attention to survive. Real self-love is different. It rests quietly within and does not need to dominate or impress others to feel valuable.

SELF-WORTH

To realize that you were invited into existence and therefore have meaning, purpose and value changes everything. One begins carrying themselves differently. There is less desperation, less insecurity and less need to compete. Self-worth allows one to respect both themselves and others properly.

FLOWERS DON’T APOLOGIZE FOR BLOOMING

When a flower blooms, it does not ask permission. It simply becomes what it was designed to be. Human beings are much the same. The person who genuinely loves themselves properly does not need to diminish others. Their peace, confidence and gratitude naturally become visible.

THE PAIN OF LEARNING

Life teaches this subject through both pleasure and pain. Mistakes, heartbreaks, wrong turns and regrets all become instructors. At first, many people beat themselves up harshly over failures. Wisdom slowly replaces the stick with a feather. Correction remains but self-destruction leaves.

SEX IS NOT LOVE

The world often confuses intimacy with physical gratification. But sex without love leaves many emptier than before. Love nourishes the soul while lust merely stimulates the senses temporarily. One fulfills while the other distracts. St. Augustine said it well…

“Love first…then do as you will.”

THE GIFT OF OVERFLOW

The highest form of self-love is not selfishness but overflow. When someone becomes emotionally, mentally, spiritually and morally nourished, they naturally become a blessing to others. Their presence comforts. Their words encourage. Their spirit calms. Their life contributes.

IT TAKES ONE TO KNOW ONE

Once genuine love takes root within a person, they begin recognizing it in others instantly. Humility joins the process and love gains depth. From the inside it comes outside naturally without strain or performance.

LOVELY

Exceeding all value, needing nothing and giving naturally without effort makes love what it truly is…LOVELY
