Sometimes people don’t need another lecture.

They don’t need another argument.

They don’t need more noise.

Sometimes they simply need encouragement.

A place to rest.

A place to begin again.

Recently I was asked about the Pearls for the Soul Series and what motivates me to continue writing, sharing, and maintaining PearlsForTheSoul.com.

The answer is actually very simple.

People.

THE RESEARCH HAS ALWAYS BEEN PEOPLE.

Everywhere I have gone throughout my life, I have encountered people from every imaginable background.

Young and old.

Rich and poor.

Successful and struggling.

Healthy and hurting.

Hopeful and discouraged.

The one thing I discovered is that beneath all the labels, titles, occupations, and circumstances…

People want many of the same things.

They want peace.

They want love.

They want understanding.

They want purpose.

They want hope.

They want someone to care.

LIFE, LOVE, INTIMACY, AND PURPOSE.

These became the four pillars that support much of my writing.

Not because I invented them.

Because people keep asking for them.

The teenager searching for identity.

The couple trying to save a marriage.

The parent worried about a child.

The cancer patient searching for strength.

The elderly person seeking meaning.

The person starting over.

The person hanging on.

The person letting go.

The questions may differ.

The needs remain remarkably similar.

ADVERSITY TEACHES WELL.

Many people are surprised to learn that my first book was written during difficult times.

Pressure has a way of revealing things.

Coal becomes diamonds through pressure.

Oysters produce pearls through irritation.

Likewise, many of life’s greatest lessons arrive disguised as challenges.

As I wrote in It Is Finished:

“Adversity often introduces us to strengths we did not know we possessed.”

— Richie Naggar, It Is Finished

That lesson continues to serve me well.

WHO READS THE PEARLS SERIES?

The answer surprises me.

Readers have ranged from teenagers to people in their nineties.

Teachers.

Students.

Parents.

Grandparents.

Business owners.

Hospital patients.

Caregivers.

Ministers.

Seekers.

Dreamers.

Survivors.

The books seem to find their way into the hands of people exactly when they need them.

That continues to humble me.

PEOPLE OPEN TO ANY PAGE.

One of the most fascinating experiences I have witnessed is watching someone open Pearls for the Soul to a random page.

They read.

Then they pause.

Then they smile.

Or cry.

Or reflect.

Then they begin sharing their own story.

It happens so often that I no longer question it.

The truth is that people already know much of what they need to know.

Sometimes they simply need a reminder.

A confirmation.

A nudge.

A little encouragement.

As I wrote in God I AM:

“The answers you seek often arrive when the questions become sincere enough.”

— Richie Naggar, God I AM

THE SERIES CONTINUES TO GROW.

Today the Pearls Series includes:

  • Pearls for the Soul
  • Pearls for Girls
  • God I AM
  • It Is Finished
  • When Will Men Come Back Again?
  • Epilogue of Ebenezer Scrooge

Each book explores different aspects of the human journey.

Different doors.

Different conversations.

Different lessons.

Yet they all point toward the same destination:

A better understanding of ourselves.

A better understanding of each other.

And a better understanding of why we are here.

WHAT IS THE MISSION?

The mission has never changed.

Encourage.

Support.

Challenge.

Inspire.

Help people discover what already exists within them.

I have long believed that people are the real treasure.

Not buildings.

Not titles.

Not possessions.

People.

The greatest discoveries I have ever made have always been found inside another human being willing to share honestly.

A PLACE OF REFUGE.

If PearlsForTheSoul.com accomplishes anything, I hope it serves as a place of refuge.

A place to pause.

A place to think.

A place to heal.

A place to reconnect with what matters.

The world provides enough confusion.

Perhaps we can provide a little clarity.

The world provides enough criticism.

Perhaps we can provide a little encouragement.

The world provides enough noise.

Perhaps we can provide a little wisdom.

After all, when you feed the soul…

You feed everything.
