Place your bets ladies and gentlemen.

PLACE THOSE BETS!

But before you do…

here is one investment you carry with you everywhere:

YOU.

Place your bets ladies and gentlemen.

PLACE THOSE BETS!

But before you do…

let me suggest one investment that deserves serious consideration.

YOU.

You are the winning hand I am talking about.

Not in the sense that everything you touch automatically turns to gold.

No.

But if you believe in yourself…

develop yourself…

train yourself…

and keep improving the product called YOU…

you have invested in something that travels with you everywhere.

That investment can keep paying you back for a lifetime.

YOU ARE THE BET

People today look beyond:

the talk,

the fancy clothes,

the marketing,

the titles,

the promises.

Sooner or later…

they want to know:

IS THERE ANY SUBSTANCE HERE?

Can you do what you say?

Can you deliver?

Can you perform?

Can you be trusted?

That is where your investment in yourself becomes visible.

BECAUSE I AM GOOD AT WHAT I DO

People who genuinely believe in themselves have usually invested something to get there.

Time.

Practice.

Education.

Experience.

Mistakes.

Repetition.

Correction.

They built something.

Confidence without preparation can become arrogance.

But confidence built on real ability?

THAT is different.

That is ownership.

Imagine going into a job interview.

Eventually comes the mother of all questions:

WHY SHOULD I HIRE YOU?

Now what?

Do you mumble?

Do you look down?

Do you give some canned answer you memorized the night before?

Or can you say, calmly and clearly:

BECAUSE I AM GOOD AT WHAT I DO.

PAUSE FOR CAUSE.

That statement should not be a boast.

It should be a conclusion based on evidence.

WRONG PROGRAMMING AT WORK

I do not allow everybody else’s fear to become my belief system.

Some people have already convinced themselves:

IT WON’T WORK.

YOU CAN’T DO THAT.

THAT’S TOO HARD.

NOBODY WILL GIVE YOU A CHANCE.

Fine.

That may be their conclusion.

It does not automatically become mine.

People sometimes project:

their disappointments,

their failures,

their fears,

their limitations

onto somebody else.

You need enough self-awareness to recognize that.

Listen respectfully.

Consider useful information.

But do not casually install somebody else’s defeat into your own operating system.

LOL.

CONFIDENCE AT WORK

When a person has done the work…

you can usually tell.

They do not need to explain themselves for twenty minutes.

They know.

They speak with enough certainty to make the point.

Short.

Direct.

Clear.

That is confidence at work.

Not noise.

Not showing off.

Not talking over everyone.

Confidence often becomes quieter as competence grows.

The person does not need to prove everything every minute.

Their work starts proving it for them.

CHARACTER IS PROOF

Over time…

experience leaves evidence.

So does success.

So does failure handled properly.

It begins showing up in:

judgment,

patience,

discipline,

timing,

reliability,

and character.

People want to trust somebody.

Especially in business.

When they encounter someone who:

knows what they are doing,

keeps their word,

communicates clearly,

and behaves consistently…

something happens.

They RELAX.

Trust creates relief.

You do not need to sell quite as hard when character has already entered the room.

YOUR REPUTATION WALKS IN BEFORE YOU DO

This is another return on investing in yourself.

People talk.

They remember.

They refer.

They form opinions based on repeated experience.

Eventually your name can begin carrying information.

Reliable.

Knowledgeable.

Fair.

Difficult.

Helpful.

Professional.

Sloppy.

Prepared.

Unprepared.

That is branding whether you planned it or not.

Investing in yourself includes building the kind of reputation you want traveling ahead of you.

CATCH YOUR OWN FLOW

After you have built your skills bank…

activated your talents…

improved your weaknesses…

and learned how to present what you offer…

something begins happening.

You move more naturally.

You stop forcing everything.

You recognize opportunities faster.

You speak more clearly.

You recover from mistakes sooner.

That is what I mean by catching your own flow.

You are no longer constantly asking:

CAN I DO THIS?

You begin asking:

HOW WELL CAN I DO THIS?

Big difference.

INVESTMENT DOES NOT MEAN MONEY ONLY

When I say:

INVEST IN YOURSELF…

I am not talking only about writing checks.

Some of the best investments cost little or nothing.

Reading.

Listening.

Practicing.

Exercising.

Improving communication.

Learning technology.

Taking care of your health.

Asking for feedback.

Working on patience.

Correcting bad habits.

Building relationships.

Showing up consistently.

Those investments compound too.

And nobody can take the learning away from you.

THE RETURN COMES IN MANY FORMS

Return on investment in yourself may show up as:

more confidence,

better health,

better decisions,

higher income,

better relationships,

greater independence,

more peace,

more opportunity.

Not every investment produces money.

Some produce something more useful.

CHOICE.

The more capable you become…

the more options you tend to create.

That has value.

DO NOT BET EVERYTHING ON APPEARANCE

There is another trap.

People sometimes spend enormous amounts improving the OUTSIDE…

while ignoring the inside.

Clothes.

Cars.

Titles.

Appearance.

Marketing.

Fine.

Presentation matters.

But presentation without substance eventually gets exposed.

You can polish the package.

But there better be something inside.

That is why the deepest investment usually involves:

knowledge,

character,

health,

skill,

and judgment.

Those travel well.

BELIEVE…THEN VERIFY IT WITH WORK

Belief in yourself matters.

But belief is not a substitute for preparation.

You can believe you are a great surgeon all day long.

Please get the training first.

LOL.

You can believe you are a great businessperson.

Fine.

Show me the results.

Healthy confidence says:

I BELIEVE I CAN LEARN THIS.

I BELIEVE I CAN IMPROVE.

I BELIEVE I CAN PERFORM.

Then it gets to work proving the belief.

That combination is powerful.

RICHIE SPEAKS

Here is one Richie rule:

The safest investment you can make is in the person you carry everywhere.

Another:

Confidence without work is noise.

Confidence after work is evidence.

And one more:

Do not wait for everybody else to believe in you before you begin believing in yourself.

PEARLS FROM THE BOOKS

From the spirit of Pearls for the Soul:

“What you build within yourself becomes something you can carry into every room.”

From the spirit of God I AM:

“What has been placed within you grows when it is exercised, developed, and put to use.”

From the spirit of It Is Finished:

“Release the belief that your value must first be granted by somebody else.”

PEARLS INSIGHT

Investing in yourself can include:

education,

skills,

health,

communication,

experience,

relationships,

and self-awareness.

These forms of investment often compound because improving one area can strengthen others.

Better health can improve energy.

Better communication can improve relationships.

Better skills can improve earning ability.

Better judgment can reduce avoidable mistakes.

The principle is simple:

BUILD THE ASSET YOU CARRY EVERYWHERE.

PEARLS CONNECTION

This connects directly with SKILLS BANKS ARE DIFFERENT-UNIQUE FOR EVERYONE.

Your skills bank becomes more valuable when you keep adding to it.

It also connects with BRANDING YOURSELF…THIS IS HOW YOU ARE KNOWN.

The person you build eventually becomes the brand people experience.

And SPENDING THE RIGHT TIME IN THE RIGHT PLACE GIVES OPTIMUM RETURN reminds us that time invested wisely in yourself can keep paying dividends long after the original effort.

FINAL SAY

PLACE YOUR BETS.

If you are looking for somewhere to invest…

start close.

YOU.

Invest in:

your mind,

your health,

your skills,

your character,

your communication,

your experience,

your discipline.

Do the work.

Build the confidence.

Then let the results speak.

Do not depend completely on:

luck,

appearance,

marketing,

or somebody else’s approval.

Those things can disappear.

But what you have genuinely developed within yourself…

travels with you.

Wherever you go.

That is why I say:

PLACE ALL YOUR MONEY ON THIS.

INVEST IN YOURSELF.

Because when the winning hand is YOU…

the better you build that hand…

the better you can play it.
